AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league title. Morgan, who was 22 at the time was the youngest player in the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
