
Alexandra Rose Raisman was born on May 25, 1994. She retired as an American artist gymnast. She was captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and the 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams. Both were winners in their respective team competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London she won gold medals in both floor and team competitions as well as the bronze medal on the balance beam, which made her the most decorated American gymnast to compete at the Games. She won a team gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gabby Douglas and Raisman are the only Americans who have won back-to-back gold medals from this event. Raisman took home silver medals for the individual all-around and floor exercise. She is the 3rd most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, just behind Shannon Miller and Simone Biles who have won six Olympic medals.Raisman was also a member of the gold-winning American teams in the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the world bronze medalist for floor exercise in 2011. She is also the two-time champion of the national championship of floor exercises (2012,2015), the 2012 national champion of balance beam, and five-time medalist in all-around competitions at national championships (silver and bronze in 2016 and 2010, as well as in 2011 2012, 2011, and 2012, 2013, and). She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame (2013).
