American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly songs that dealt with sexual identity and race with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before increasing her presence in Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. She also received the classical and jazz education later delving into hip-hop as a teenager.
